NIP Membership Application Form

Neighbourhood Information Post (NIP) is a non-profit community resource centre serving the Downtown Toronto East community. Our Mission is to build local communities and improve the resilience of the people in our communities by: 

• Providing services and supports for vulnerable people to move from insufficiency to stability and the capacity to thrive in life;

• Strengthening the capacity of vulnerable people to effectively meet the challenges and obstacles in their lives; and

• Engaging in community partnerships as part of a broader network of services to bolster the foundational sources of human well-being.

Our current services focus on homelessness prevention, housing & financial stabilization, community animation & engagement, and meaningful social connection. Since its opening in 1970, we have been able to help and empower marginalized and socially isolated people in our community.

NIP works to achieve its mission by:

• Responding to community needs by developing programs that empower people now and for the future.

• Engaging in community partnerships to advance our mission.

• Educating partner agencies about the success of our programs.

In order to demonstrate greater community support and involvement in the affairs of NIP, friends and supporters are being asked to apply for a membership. As a member of Neighbourhood Information Post, you will receive voting privileges at meeting concerning the well-being of the community, an annual summative newsletter, and notices of general meetings. In addition, the membership will confirm your support for a community – based service that as provided assistance to the Downtown Toronto community for over 50 years.
