NIP Youth Leadership Workshop

NIP's Summer Students
The workshops took place in August 2007, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Toronto Public Library Parliament Branch and attracted 13 high school students. A total of 6 guest speakers from 4 organizations came and spoke to the students on issues related to leadership. Guest speakers included Bernadette Maheandiran and Andrea from Canada Red Cross, and Rafal Dittwald from FSA Youth Action Club; the guest speakers on Tuesday, August 14, were Rupanetha Thiageshwaran from NIP, and Minnie Zhou and Sadiya Anasari from Riverdale Immigration Women's Centre.

The workshops covered a wide range of topics related to leadership and were a huge success, providing an excellent opportunity for students to develop and enhance their leadership skills. We received positive feedback from the students as well as the guest speakers who attended.

We would like to thank all guest speakers for their help, and a special thank you goes to the Toronto Public Library for their great assistance.
